SCHOOL RE-OPENING (AUTUMN TERM)

Dear Parent / Guardian,

We are pleased to prepare for the safe reopening of all Ceredigion schools for all learners.  Some year groups will be able to attend school as from Thursday 3rd September with more year groups able to attend as the week progresses. All year groups will be back at school by Friday 11th September. Your school will inform you next week of the arrangements for the specific days particular year groups will be required to attend during the period 3rd to 11th September.

As from September 14th, all year groups will be able to attend school on a daily basis.

We are extremely grateful to all school staff for the careful planning and preparation that is needed to re-open school to enable all pupils to return. Risk assessments, processes and systems are all being re-assessed to ensure individual schools can welcome pupils back safely.

School transport for eligible learners will be available with further detail to follow.

The full return of schools will be done with your child’s safety, wellbeing and educational progress at the centre of all decision making.  We are expecting further guidance from Welsh Government in the coming days, and you will be updated by your school with further information as it becomes available.

We know the past few months have been difficult for our children and young people, with many anxious about their learning and not being able to see their friends. We would like to thank you, as parents and carers for the key roles you have taken in promoting your child’s learning during this period.  As the summer holidays approach, we would wish to signpost you to the Council website for details of the summer holiday private childcare provision available should you so wish. You can also contact Porth Cymorth Cynnar porthcymorthcynnar@ceredigion.gov.uk if you require any information regarding provision available for you child during the summer holidays.

Your sincerely,

Meinir Ebbsworth

Chief Education Officer
