Peripatetic Music Lessons

Peripatetic Music Lessons

Dear Parent/Guardian

Ceredigion Music Service will continue to offer a wide range of instrumental and vocal lessons, through teams on Hwb, during the autumn term.  Lessons on teams during lockdown have proved very successful, with some parents choosing to learn to play / sing with their children.

We are hoping to deliver weekly lessons during the school day as usual, with music service staff following the same timetable as last year.

If you are already playing an instrument then all you have to do is join the music service teams’ site on Hwb and contact your instrumental teacher. If you would like to start learning to play an instrument then please email me at the following address - Geraint.Evans@ceredigion.gov.uk

Here are the lessons we offer –

Strings -           Violin, Viola, Cello, Double Bass

Woodwind -      Flute, Oboe, Clarinet, Bassoon, Saxophone

Brass -              Cornet, Trumpet, French, Baritone, Euphonium, Trombone, Tuba.

Harp

Percussion –    (year 5 and upwards), Kit, Tuned Percussion

Piano –              (year 3 upwards)

Voice -               secondary schools only.

Your child is welcome to choose more than one instrument if he or she wishes to do so. You should note that a commitment is expected for the whole year, so it would not be possible to repay you should you decide to stop taking lessons before the end of the academic year.

The cost of lessons is laid out in the table below –

1st instrument 2nd instrument 3rd instrument 4th instrument 5th instrument

If your child is studying GCSE or A level music there is no charge. Also, there will be no charge if your child is in receipt of free school meals.

Please note that payment must be made in full by the October half term. If you are experiencing financial hardship or are in receipt of benefits, you are advised to contact myself at the email address above, should you wish to discuss the matter further.

Payment should be made using the parent pay system. The system should be ready for use by September 14th.

We very much look forward to welcoming new and existing pupils to our newly adapted music service.

Yours Sincerely
