Letter to Parents 15-12-2021

Dear Parent / Guardian,

Reintroduction of Distance Learning from Monday 20th December until the end of the Christmas term

As you will now be aware Ceredigion County Council, have decided that the county’s schools will be reverting to distance learning from Monday 20th December until the end of term.

Any pupil attending a specialist resource unit will be able to continue to do so until the end of term. Payments/vouchers for any pupil claiming free school meals will be adjusted to take the distance learning days into account.

Parents who are key workers, and cannot make alternative childcare arrangements, can have access to a childcare hub if necessary during this period. Lunch will not be provided at the childcare hubs, and therefore a packed lunch will need to be prepared for these days. School transport will be provided as usual.

  1. Parents/guardians will need to inform the Head teacher if they require a place in the Hub by:

9.00am Thursday 16 December.

The hub will be open to the following pupils:

  • LAC pupils

  • Pupils on the ‘Child Protection’ register

  • Pupils who have a ‘Care and Support Plan’

  • Children of essential workers if they have no other childcare options. Families have wider options available than in the other lockdowns

I can be contacted by phone: 01970 617011/625809

Or by emailB.EVANS3@llwyn-yr-eos.ceredigion.sch.uk

to secure a place.

  1. Parents/guardians will receive a work pack on Friday along with a link/instruction to log in to Teams. This is because a daily wellbeing session on Teams will be scheduled with your child and their classmates for next Monday/Tuesday. You will receive more information from your class teacher.

  1. If you will have any difficulties accessing I.T. equipment please contact the school directly. Please note you can access Teams through smart phones/tablets.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding during this challenging time for the community.
