Dear Parents/Guardians,

Please find enclosed important information for the weeks ahead.

Strikes 

Following on from my previous correspondence a reminder about the industrial action scheduled to take place next week. 

I can confirm that the following classes/resources bases will be closed on 1/2/23.

  • Dosbarth Enfys - All day 
  • Dosbarth Pili Pala – All day.
  • The Nursery – All day.
  • Year 1 – Closed in the afternoon.

The school will keep you updated about any future action scheduled to take place.

Swimming

A reminder that Blwyddyn 3 will swim every Wednesday this half term. Resource Bases classes will continue with their arrangements on a Friday morning. 

BMO after school club:

This half term, Year 6 can attend BMO after school club from 3:15-4:15. The club is free and is a great opportunity for our Year 6 pupils.

Breakfast Club

It has been great to see so many children attending breakfast club at the school. Breakfast club opens at 8:15 in the Junior canteen and children are taken directly to class from there. Please contact the school if you wish to book a place for your child.

 Fruit Shop Juniors

A reminder that Children in Years 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 can access the fruit shop every morning. Each piece of fruit costs 30 pence.

PTFA

The PTFA will meet on Monday 30th of January  Please make your way to  reception on the Junior site  at 3:30pm  for a short meeting to discuss plans for the coming months. All are welcome!

 ‘Children’s mental health week’ from the 6th – 13th February 2023. This year’s theme is ‘Let’s Connect’.

Staff will be planning a variety of activities and lessons during this week to encourage the children- and adults- to consider how to make meaningful connections that support mental health.

On Friday 10th February we will be celebrating with a ‘Dress to Express’ day when the children are invited to dress how they want to express themselves. It can be fancy dress, dress in their favourite colour or team kit, crazy hair, over the top glamour or just their comfiest outfits… the link below will take you to the relevant page where you can find more ideas.

Please note… we will not be collecting any donations on this day so please do not send money in- we just want to celebrate our wonderful children expressing themselves for this important cause! We look forward to sharing photographs of the week with you on the school Twitter page @llwynyreos

PTFA School Disco

On Thursday 16th February, the PTFA will host a school disco for children in Years 3-6 in the Juniors Hall. The school council will be meeting to discuss arrangements and more information will follow.

 Half term holidays.

The school will close on Friday, 17th February and reopen for all pupils on Monday 27th February 2023.

Eisteddfod

 This year we will have our whole school Eisteddfod on Wednesday, 1st March. Children can dress up in their house colours, traditional Welsh clothing or sports kit. We will update you with results via our school twitter page @llwynyreos. Your child’s class teacher will send further information out regarding this event.

 World Book Day

 On Friday, 3rd March it is World Book Day. Your child can dress up as a character from a book or bring in a book with them. There will be tasks taking place throughout the day to celebrate.

INSET Day

The school will be shut on Friday, 31st March for a school INSET day.

Easter Holidays

 We will break from school on Thursday 30th March and will return to school following the Easter Holidays on Monday, 17th April.
