Byddwn yn trafod y polisi gyda\u2019r disgyblion ac yn ail-edrych arno o dro i dro i wneud yn si\u0175r ei fod yn berthnasol. Nid yw\u2019r ysgol yn atebol dros unrhyw ganlyniadau i\u2019r penderfyniad hwnnw<\/li>\n<li>mae\u2019r polisi hwn yn ymdrin \u00e2\u2019r daith yn \u00f4l ac ymlaen i\u2019r ysgol lle nad oes gan yr ysgol gyfrifoldeb nac atebolrwydd. Pan fo\u2019r ysgol yn arwain gweithgareddau cerdded, sgwtera a beicio efallai y bydd rheolau a chanllawiau ychwanegol yngl\u0177n \u00e2 gwisgo helmedi, dillad y gellir eu gweld-o-bell ac ati<\/li>\n<li>cynghorir rhieni i ystyried yswiriant priodol (edrychwch ar yswiriant y cartref) gan nad yw\u2019r ysgol yn atebol am unrhyw golled neu ddifrod i feiciau a sgwteri a ddefnyddir ar y daith yn \u00f4l ac ymlaen i\u2019r ysgol, ac nid oes ganddi yswiriant ar ei gyfer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h1>Travel Policy<\/h1>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>At Llwyn-Yr-Eos we encourage pupils and parents to travel to school by cycling, scooting and walking (active travel) wherever possible.<\/p>\n<p>This school travel policy explains how we will be encouraging active travel to school. We will discuss the policy with the pupils and re-visit it periodically to ensure its relevance. For pupils unable to travel to school actively, we encourage use of public transport or car-share.<\/p>\n<p>If you have any ideas to improve things at or around school for pedestrians and cyclists, or questions about travelling to school, please get in touch with Mrs Anne Johnson-Turner.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Some of the benefits of active travel are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>improving both mental and physical health through physical activity<\/li>\n<li>establishing positive active travel behaviour<\/li>\n<li>promoting independence and improving safety awareness<\/li>\n<li>reducing congestion, noise and pollution in the community<\/li>\n<li>reducing the environmental impact of the journey to school.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>To encourage pupils to cycle or scoot to school frequently the school will:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>actively promote cycling and scooting as a positive way of travelling<\/li>\n<li>celebrate the achievements of those who cycle and scoot to school<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>provide cycle and scooter storage on the school site<\/li>\n<li>provide high quality cycle training to all pupils who wish to participate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>To make cycling and scooting to and from school a positive experience for everybody concerned, we expect our pupils to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ride sensibly and safely and to follow the Highway Code<\/li>\n<li>check that their bicycle or scooter is roadworthy and regularly maintained<\/li>\n<li>behave in a manner which shows them and the school in the best possible light and to consider the needs of others when cycling or scooting<\/li>\n<li>consider wearing a cycle helmet<\/li>\n<li>ensure they can be seen by other road users, by using lights and wearing high-visibility clothing, as appropriate.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>For the wellbeing of our pupils, we expect parents and carers to:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>encourage their child to walk, cycle or scoot to school whenever possible<\/li>\n<li>encourage their child to take up opportunities to develop their competence and confidence in walking cycling or scooting<\/li>\n<li>consider walking, cycling or scooting with their child on the school run, possibly joining with other families as a \u2018cycle train\u2019 or \u2018walking bus\u2019.<\/li>\n<li>provide their child with equipment such as wet weather clothing high-visibility clothing, lights, a lock and cycle helmet as appropriate<\/li>\n<li>ensure that the bicycles and scooters ridden to school are roadworthy and regularly maintained.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Please note that: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>the decision as to whether a child is competent to cycle, scoot or walk safely to and from school rests with the parent(s)\/carer(s). The school has no liability for any consequences of that decision<\/li>\n<li>this policy covers the journey to and from school where the school has no responsibility or liability.
