It has been an excellent half term.
It was great to be able to welcome you back to the school for our parents evening and brilliant to see all the excellent learning opportunities the pupils have engaged in during the last seven weeks.

We have some important information for you with dates and details for what is coming up both before and after half term.
YMA O HYD – Juniors to wear read or Welsh clothing Tuesday 25.
The juniors will be recording the song ‘Yma o Hyd’ on Tuesday, 25th October. It would be great if the children could dress in red or Welsh clothing e.g., Wales football kit etc. The recording will be shared with the Wales National Football team as part of a Ceredigion project to hopefully inspire the football team to World Cup success! Wishful thinking? We will do our best!
PTA Disco – Years 3,4,5 and 6.
The PTA would like to invite pupils from years 3,4,5 and 6 to a school disco on Thursday 27.10.22.
- Years 3 & 4 disco will start at 4:00 and finish at 5:30.
- Years 5 & 6 disco will start at 6:00 and finish at 7:30.
Price for entry will be - £2.
Hot dogs - £1
Sweets - £0.30
Drinks will be provided!

Half Term Holidays:
We will break up for half term holidays on Thursday, 27th October. We will return to school on Monday, 7th November.
Swimming arrangements for next half term:
Years 5 and 6 have enjoyed a return to swimming this half term. However, Years 3 & 4 will be swimming after half term. You will receive more information from the Years 3 & 4 class teachers regarding this.
The resource bases classes will continue to swim on Fridays.
BMO – After School Club. Wednesdays after half term:
Year 4 will be able to stay after school on Wednesdays after half term for sports club with BMO. The first session will begin on Wednesday,16th November. The club will start straight after school and will finish at 4:15.
International Fortnight: November 7th – November 21st
The whole school will celebrate ‘International Fortnight’ on the above dates. Each class will have a country and will be completing work on this country. We will share this work with you as parents and guardians. Your class teacher will inform you of the country they will be studying and any events which will be taking part during the fortnight. All countries who will be studied are countries which will be taking part in the Football World Cup. Wales will be competing in the World Cup for the first time since 1958.
Flu Shots – Monday, 7th November
If you have not yet returned your flu shot letters, please can you do so as soon as possible. Vaccinations will take place on Monday, 7th November.
School Photos – Wednesday, 9th November
School photos will take place on Wednesday, 9th November. It is great to report that siblings will be able to have photos together this year.
Diwrnod Coch, Gwyn a Gwydd – Thursday, 10th November
On Thursday, November 10th we will dress up in Red, White, or Green coloured clothing to celebrate the Urdd and our Welsh heritage. We will have whole school activities on throughout the day.
Children in Need – Friday, 18th November
The school council met on to discuss Children in Need which will take place on Friday 18th November this year.
We kindly ask for a £1 donation. The theme will be a pyjama day. Children are invited to dress in their pyjamas if they wish. We will also have various activities in classrooms such as music, arts, crafts, and cooking.
December 7th – Christmas Concert
A reminder of the Christmas Concert which will take place on Wednesday, December 7th at St Michael’s Church in town.
- Resource bases and Nursery, Reception, Years 1 and 2 will perform in the afternoon.
- Key Stage Two children will perform in the evening.
Information regarding start and end times will be released in the coming weeks.
December 20th – Christmas Fair
The school will host a Christmas Fair. Children will be making products to sell to you as parents and our community. We will have stalls set up by school staff and we hope to provide you with some extra Christmas spirit!
We would also like to invite members of our community into the school to allow them the opportunity to sell their own products. If you have a business or know of any local businesses who would like the opportunity to sell their products in the school, then please get in touch with Mr Steffan Davies – daviess1455@hwbcymru.net to enquire about this.
