Letter to Parents – Staff Leaving

14/7/23

Dear Parents/Guardians

As we are coming to the end of another successful year at the school, I wanted to inform you that three members of staff will be leaving us at the end of term.

They are:

Jane Thorogood

Mrs. Jane Thorogood, our Year 6 teacher and a member of staff at the school since 2004 will be leaving this role at the end of term. Mrs. Thorogood has been fully committed to the school and its pupils throughout her time here and has played an integral role in guiding Llwyn yr Eos to where it is today. Mrs. Thorogood’s ’s input on pupil wellbeing and the curriculum is reflected in every success the school has achieved and for this we are truly appreciative. Thank you for all your hard work and enthusiasm over the years Jane!

Mrs. Catrin Medi Pugh Jones, who you will all already know, will assume her new role as Year 6 teacher on 1/9/23.

Jane Jones

Mrs. Jane Jones has been a teaching assistant at the school for nearly 43 years based predominantly in our resource bases such as Pili Pala and Enfys. Jane has made a massive difference to every pupil she has ever worked with and for that we are eternally grateful. She will be sorely missed by everyone at the school who will miss her sense of humour and can-do attitude.

Diolch am yr effaith a gawsoch ar yr ysgol a'i disgyblion Jane mae'n cael ei werthfawrogi'n fawr!

Tracey Northover

Mrs. Northover, our Higher Learning Teaching Assistant, has been a member of staff at the school for 39 years. She has worked diligently in both mainstream classes and resource bases and with pupils of all ages. Many generations have benefitted from her expertise, support, and the utmost dedication she has shown throughout her career. The best teaching assistants are passionate about their jobs and will go the extra mile to help their pupils. From pastoral support to working with pupils with a wide range of additional needs, Tracey has always provided extra care to those pupils who need it most and the impact she has had is ongoing.

Can I take this opportunity to thank all three members of staff for all their hard work and dedication during their time at the school. Everyone here wishes you all the best for the future – you will always be welcome at Ysgol Llwyn yr Eos!

Yours faithfully
